I am so excited that your student is interested in joining the band at Ana Grace!
My name is Ms. Krusch and I teach our 4th and 5th grade band. I came to Ana Grace back in 2018 and have been honored to be a part of helping our band program grow over the years. As we enter the 2026-27 school year, we are stronger than ever — offering 7 different beginner instruments to students for weekly small group study and large group rehearsals, along with various performance opportunities, field trips, hosting and participating in CREC's district-wide elementary band festival, and, of course, Ana Grace's two annual Showcases performances.
Students who are completing 3rd grade now—beginning 4th grade Fall 2026—may enroll in band now. On the enrollment page, please read the information about instrument assignments and instrument rentals carefully to ensure that both you and your student know what to expect. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Incoming 4th graders who register for band will be asked to select their top 3 choices from these instruments.
Please review the presentation for more information and videos of each instrument.
Students will have the opportunity to test instruments to ensure a good fit. Students are typically assigned to their first or second choice, based upon availability and teacher recommendation.

Dragon DanceThis piece featured a gong and exposed students to Chinese music and culture. We watched a real dragon dance performance in class to help students make connections to their performance.

Eye of the TigerThese 5th graders loved band so much that they came in during recess once a week to learn extra music!

Mechanical MonstersThis exciting piece featured fast, heavy percussion and metal spoons and pans! It was a great opportunity to combine 4th and 5th grade for our performance. We are better together!
